Dr Karim Shabbot is a practice owner and Dental Surgeon with 30+ years of experience and expertise. He qualified as a dentist in Iraq in 1983, relocated to New Zealand with his family 25 years ago and obtained his practising certificate in New Zealand.
Karim has always owned and operated dental practices in New Zealand. Karim’s field expertise is General Dentistry and Cosmetic Dentistry with a special interest in Oral Surgery including Dental implants. Karim has a strong focus on understanding his patient needs, improving patient confidence while helping to achieve a patient’s dental goals. He will empower you with the knowledge to help you make the best decisions about your dental health. His extensive knowledge offers amazing advice and support to his fellow colleagues. Karim is an avid walker and enjoys spending time with family and friends and his beautiful granddaughter.

While Sama enjoys all aspects of general dentistry, she has a strong interest in cosmetic dentistry and a vision to build beautiful, healthy smiles. Sama loves making patients feel happier and more confident with their smile and the satisfaction of knowing she has helped them. Sama is one of the few doctors who understand not only aesthetic but also functional dentistry. Sama is an Invisalign registered provider. Invisalign is a modern clear aligner system to correct the alignment of the teeth. Sama is also is a very experienced provider of facial filler and botulinum (Botox) and strives to make patients feel more youthful but with a natural appearance. Sama has graduated from many courses on thematic problems of modern dentistry. She constantly takes part in national and international congress, symposiums seminars and masterclasses.
Rusin received his Bachelor of Dental Surgery degree from the University of Otago in 2021. He also holds a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Sciences from the University of Auckland. He is fluent in both English and Mandarin. With a background in research, he is committed to keeping up to date with the latest advances in dentistry and providing the most up-to-date dental treatment for his patients. He has published several academic research articles and was awarded the New Zealand Dental Research Foundation Prize during his degree for excellence in research. He is a gentle clinician, listens carefully to his patient’s concerns and keeps them involved in the treatment planning phase to develop the best solution suited for each individual. He aims to build long-term trusting relationships with each of his patients. Rusin practices all aspects of dentistry and with special interests in fixed prosthodontics and cosmetic dentistry. Outside of work, Rusin enjoys spending time with his two ragdoll cats, travelling around the country and searching for the best food places in town.
Sharon has worked in the dental industry for many years, being the practice manager at The Dentist for the last 17 years, as well as a Certified Dental Assistant (NZDA). Sharon has considerable knowledge of the dental industry, a strong passion for people and their welfare. Sharon will always do her best to assist you and make your visit to The Dentist an enjoyable and comfortable experience. In her spare time, she loves to walk, cook, entertain, and spend time with family.
Jordyn has been a Dental Assistant since 2016. After 5 years of working in the Dental industry, she has decided to take the plunge and obtain her Dental Assistant qualification (NZDA) in 2021. Being in the dental industry is not only a job but a passion to Jordyn and considers it a pleasure to assist the Dentists to help patients achieve their oral health goals. In her spare time, she enjoys dining out and sampling different cuisines, spending time with family and friends and listening to music.
Lee has been a certified Dental Assistant (NZDA) for over 15 years and has practised in numerous dental fields. Meeting and caring for the patient’s needs and making sure they leave with a smile on their face brings Lee great satisfaction. Lee strives to ensure she always leaves a positive impact on patients, so they will return and recommend us to others. Lee loves to spend time with family, play badminton and go camping with friends in her spare time.
